NOMINATIONS

Many structures and places qualify for historic designation. These designations range from a local landmark to the National Register of Historic Places. Once recognized, the historic asset then qualifies for a variety of federal and state incentives such as:

·  20% investment tax credit for the certified rehabilitation of income-producing certified historic structures

·  Consideration in planning for Federal, Federally licensed, and Federally assisted projects (Section 106)

·  Qualification for Federal grants for historic preservation

·  Comparable state and local incentives and programs

Preparing a nomination requires extensive research, thorough field surveys, careful analysis, persuasive writing, and specific photography. These nominations can be for single properties or entire districts.
